They serve what is probably the most famous vegan Sunday roast in London. Already back in 1966, Manna was a haven for vegetarians who could find there quality food instead of a headscroll. Well, now they’ve been vegan for almost a decade now, and they keep doing just the same. Another great feature is that their menus rotate to reflect seasons, which is not a given, even in a vegan place, and that also means that you can find their spicy nut roast or their decadent butternut squash and flaky filo pie, and we couldn’t tell you which one to hope for. So, So good.
The Old Queen’s Head
In Islington? There’s a place you need to go to, and it’s this one. Another Victorian pub, yes, but not like the others. The place looks good and smells even better! Is that odd to say? Maybe, but it’s true!
Go and enjoy that incredible atmosphere that made it an iconic spot for North East London. Can’t miss it!
Vegans who go for their Sunday roast, ALWAYS go for Sunday roast, and it seems clear why: the chef makes a mushroom wellington with roast potatoes, glazed carrots and parsnips, curly kale and shallots, Yorkshire pudding, all of this, drowned in gravy. Impossible not to lick your fingers.
