Whether you’re a Londoner or a visitor, it’s always importanto to make time for the important people in your life, and London is a good place for that – now, the british aren’t known for their fiery expressions of love and affection, but we’re good at dates… hopefully? Well, here are our suggestions for a date night with your significant other, or your significant-other-to-be!

Obviously, go for a picnic! take advantage of a good day to sit down in one of the beautiful Royal Parks – if you feel like making the food, great (maybe?) or maybe go together, take them to your favorite foodstand at a foodmarket, then take it to the top of Primrose Hill or St. James Park with its beautiful views, and enjoy!

  • If money isn’t an issue, and you want to be grand about it, London Eye’s Cupid’s Capsule is a great choice… maybe not for a first date though.
  • For a first date, a visit to Kew Gardens is a splendid idea, booking in advance is one too, so you can avoid he queues
  • See one of the Bard’s romantic plays at Shakespeare’s Globeone of the most unique, breathtaking theatrical spaces in London.
  • Go on a romantic art expedition: marvel at the gesture of The Knight Errant by John Everett Millais at Tate Britain, John Gibson’s Cupid and Psyche at the Royal Academy of Arts, or Paris Bordone’s A Pair of Lovers at the National Gallery.

  • Check out the programme at the Electric Cinema for a double seat and a cozy electric blanket, or an armchair – footstool situation
  • Book a table at Bob Bob Ricard: Make sure you press the “call for champagne” buzzer to toast to each other’s excellent choice
  • Marvel at the sea life together at the London Aquarium (if that’s your style, they have an “underwater proposal” service)
  • The Whispering Gallery at St. Paul’s Cathedral is the perfect place to whisper your feelings to each other.
  • Whether it makes you giggle or laugh out loud, catching a comedy show is a great idea maybe some food before, some drinks after – or the other way around. Or both, we don’t judge.
  • Strike a pose next to the Love Lane sign: Pose for a couplie (that’s a couplie’s selfie) at this love-landmark
  • Dinner and a tour! on water with City Cruises and Bateaux London, or by bus with Bustronome, it’s original, it’s fun, and the opposite of obvious!
  • Visit the Skygarden, a notanical garden in the sky with a view on all London is all you need.
  • Stargazing at the Greenwich Royal Observatory is clearly a romantic activity. Check out their events and after hours openings.
  • High-level cocktails and jazz at Oriole in Farrington, not too crowded, you can actually enjoy the music and the company of your date.
